The solution was to create a brand new set of lock picks designed for UK, Europe and Japanese locks. Slim Line picks work beautifully on all kinds of locks with small or narrow key ways including some found in the USA.

15 PIECE SLIM LINE SET INFORMATION

This Fifteen piece slimline set includes Eleven different picks with metal handles, four tension tools, and a snap over top grain leather case. The main difference between this set and the 9 piece slimline set is you have more tension wrenches and a better selection of picks. If you ask people who regularly lock pick a number of them will tell you that they tend to use the same picks but use more types of tension wrenches. Key ways do vary quite widely so having different tension wrenches does help. We often use 5 different tension wrenches for various locks. When a tension wrench is too small for a key way it tends to slip and this is the reason most lock pickers use multiple tension wrenches.

If you're still doing this as a hobby then this is a good choice to upgrade. If you're getting serious or are in the profession you should consider the Twenty Two piece or Thirty Seven Piece Set instead.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION

The diamond and rake are probably the most common two picks used.

Slimline Picks can be harder to master than the standard picks for some people.
